| Product Category | Flow Measurement |
| Product Type | Magnetic-inductive flow meters |
| Summary | Wafer version |
| Applications | Water circulation, process applications |
| Key Features | Quick and time-saving installation; excellent cost-effectiveness; titanium, tantalum or platinum electrodes |
| Description | This magnetic-inductive flow meter is based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction, according to which a conductor moving through a magnetic field generates an electrical potential perpendicular to the magnetic field. The flow tube is located between two flanges and two coils. The magnetic field induced by the current flowing through the coils creates a potential difference between the electrodes that is proportional to the measured flow rate. WIKA signal converters, which can be mounted directly on the instrument or installed separately from it (e.g. type FLC-608), generate the current that supplies the magnetic coils, detect the potential difference between the electrodes, process the signal to calculate the flow rate and manage communication with external control systems. Some liquids and slurries are difficult to measure with common sensor types; the model FLC-1000EL was developed specifically for the accurate flow measurement of such media. The special wafer version allows convenient installation using a pair of UNI 2223 flanges (PN 16 to PN 40) or ANSI flanges (150 to 300). This design gives the measuring instrument excellent water resistance, even when permanently immersed. |
