Continuous monitoring. The GA35 gas monitoring instrument is specifically designed to determine the SF6 gas concentration in enclosed spaces. When handling and storing SF6 gas, improper handling or leakage can easily cause hazardous quantities of SF6 to escape. The GA35 covers a monitoring area of up to 250 m². Since SF6 is five times heavier than air, high concentrations of SF6 gas not only dissipate poorly but also settle downwards, displacing the air needed for breathing and posing a suffocation hazard. The GA35 continuously monitors the ambient air via a non-dispersive infrared sensor. Gas samples are typically taken in the vicinity of gas tanks or gas-insulated switchgear, where large quantities of SF6 gas can escape within a short time. Reliable alarm. The instrument is equipped with a loud alarm that promptly warns of hazardous gas concentrations in the air. Since SF6 has a higher molecular weight than room air, escaping SF6 sinks downwards. For this reason, the sampling box can be mounted close to the floor. Particle filters in the sampling box and pipe connections ensure that the measurement results are not affected by impurities. In addition, the GA35 is equipped with a flow control unit that triggers a fault alarm in the event of a pump failure or a blocked supply line, ensuring reliable operation of the instrument.
