| Description | Design The CPD8500 digital piston-type pressure gauge is an instrument that perfectly combines the performance of a manual piston pressure gauge with the efficiency and ease of use of a compact digital primary standard. The instrument covers a wide pressure range: 0.1 ... 50 MPa [15 ... 7,250 psi] and absolute pressure from 0.1 ... 2 MPa [15 ... 290 psi], and has several measuring heads. The CPD8500 digital piston-type pressure gauge is equipped with an internal environmental monitoring module, temperature probes and a precision vacuum sensor for automatic detection of sensitive parameters. In addition, customers can optionally install an internal or external atmospheric pressure reference, providing greater flexibility for gauge or absolute pressure measurement. Application With a measurement accuracy of 35 ppm of reading, the CPD8500 rivals reference primary standards, making it the ideal choice for calibrating transfer standards. Unlike conventional piston pressure gauges, the CPD8500 can take continuous measurements in absolute pressure mode, whereas conventional instruments have to interrupt the vacuum conditions to load weights. This feature makes the instrument more convenient and faster, and thus easier to calibrate. In addition, the CPD8500 pressure gauge is equipped with an internal automatic lubrication system, which further extends the high and low pressure measuring range without requiring additional power, also limiting contamination and improving the performance of the piston-cylinder system. Ease of use The CPD8500 uses certified piston pressure gauge technology and is equipped with a high-accuracy load cell, enabling precision calibration without loading any external weights. The displayed pressure value is compensated internally for changes in environmental conditions, local gravity values and piston-cylinder temperature. This eliminates manual or complex external calculations. The base of the CPD8500 is also equipped with integrated levelling feet for easy levelling. The levelling feet are fitted with pads to reduce the effects of vibration. In addition, the instrument is fully backward compatible with the measuring heads of the previous CPD8000 version for absolute and gauge pressure. Intuitive user interface The CPD8500 digital piston-type pressure gauge features a touchscreen display and an intuitive user interface for easy use. The software can store information for up to eight measuring heads for quick setup and operation. The CPD8500 software enables up to 11-point in-instrument adjustment of the various internally mounted sensors.
