| Description | Thermowells are an important component in all temperature measurement applications. The thermowell isolates the measuring process from the surrounding environment, protecting not only the environment and personnel but also separating aggressive, high-pressure, high-flow media from the temperature sensor itself, enabling the user to replace the thermometer without interrupting the process. Thermowells are available in numerous designs and materials to meet almost any application requirement. The type of process connection and the basic manufacturing method are also defined by the respective design specification. Thermowells are generally divided into threaded, weld-in and flanged types. In addition, thermowells can be classified as built-up (assembled) or barstock (solid) versions. Built-up thermowells are manufactured from tube and closed at the end with a solid weld. Barstock thermowells are machined from solid bar. The SWT52x series of built-up threaded or weld-in thermowells is particularly suitable for mechanical thermometers of model 52. For applications with short insertion lengths (copper alloy), a barstock thermowell can also be selected as an option. These thermowells offer excellent value for money and allow quick adjustment and replacement of the thermometer, making them especially suitable for machinery construction and heating technology applications. |
