Technical Specifications

Product CategoryTemperature Measurement
Product TypeThermometers with switch contacts
SummaryStainless steel version
ApplicationsFor controlling and regulating industrial processes Monitoring plant operation and switching electrical circuits Universally applicable in machine building, plant and tank construction, apparatus engineering and the food industry Temperature measurement without contact with the medium For installation in control panels, control cabinets and control consoles
Key FeaturesMeets the highest standards in measurement technology Housing and stem made of stainless steel Suitable for mounting on the outside of pipes and tanks Available with inductive switch contacts for use in hazardous areas Switch contact version suitable for PLC applications
DescriptionAll applications in which the process temperature must be displayed locally or which are difficult to access and in which a circuit must simultaneously be switched can be served by this gas-actuated thermometer with switch contacts. Thanks to the wide range of possible designs, the TGS73 gas-actuated thermometer is an ideal choice for any process connection or installation position. For versions with adjustable stem and dial, the case can be precisely adjusted to suit the viewing angle. With the version with connecting bulb (without direct contact with the medium), temperature can be measured and controlled even where pipe diameters are very small. The connecting bulb is suitable for mounting on the outside of pipes and tanks. When installing such thermometers, it must be ensured that the entire length of the connecting bulb is in contact with the measuring point. The switch contacts (also referred to as "alarm contacts") make or break a circuit depending on the position of the pointer of the measuring instrument. The switch contacts are adjustable over the entire scale range. The instrument pointer (actual-value pointer) rotates freely over the entire scale range, independent of the settings. The setting pointers can be adjusted from the instrument window using a removable key (mounted on the terminal box). The switch contact version can be fitted with a single set point or with multiple switch contacts. When the actual-value pointer exceeds or falls below the set point, the contact switches. The switch contacts are available as magnetic-assisted contacts, inductive contacts and electronic contacts. The inductive contacts can be used in hazardous areas. The electronic contacts can be used for switching programmable logic controllers (PLC).
