DescriptionMultipoint temperature measuring instruments are typically used to measure the temperature distribution in reactors or fuel storage tanks, or to detect so-called "hot spots". The T-bar design is a common configuration for multipoint temperature measuring instruments. In this design, several (replaceable if required) thermocouples or resistance thermometers are typically arranged linearly along a guide bar. To achieve fast response times, each individual measuring point is pressed against the inner wall of the thermowell by a compression spring; this thermowell can be supplied as part of the sensor or can already be integrated in the reactor. Connection terminals or temperature transmitters can be housed in a junction box, which can either be assembled to the thermometer as a component or mounted separately on a wall or pipe line, etc.
