DescriptionThe thermowell is an essential component in all temperature measurement applications. It separates the measuring process from the surrounding area, protecting both the environment and operating personnel, and preventing corrosive media, high pressure and high flow rates from affecting the temperature probe, while also allowing the thermometer to be replaced during operation. Thermowells are available in a wide variety of designs and materials to meet virtually all application requirements. The type of process connection and the basic manufacturing process are important design options. In general, thermowells can be divided into threaded, weld-in and flanged types. Thermowells can also be classified as welded-stem and barstock designs. Welded-stem thermowells are manufactured from tubing with a solid welded tip, while barstock thermowells are machined from solid bar material. The TW40 series of welded-stem flanged thermowells is suitable for use with the complete range of WIKA electronic and mechanical thermometers. Designed to DIN 43772, this series is intended for small to medium process loads and is primarily used in the chemical industry, process technology and plant construction.
