DescriptionFor high-voltage switchgear, gas density is a critical operating parameter. If the gas density requirements are not met, safe operation of the equipment cannot be guaranteed. Even under extreme environmental conditions, WIKA gas density monitors reliably alarm against dangerous low-density conditions. If the gas density drops due to leakage, the switch contacts are actuated. In addition to conventional gas density monitoring, the GDM-RC-100-T incorporates high-precision sensors and computing circuitry. The pressure value at 20°C [68°F] can be read directly on the instrument via the on-site display. Integrated switch contacts enable simple switching tasks quickly and conveniently. The internal/external Modbus ® interface or 4 ... 20 mA sensor allows remote monitoring of the equipment. The measured data for pressure, temperature and gas density are transmitted using the standardized Modbus ® RTU protocol. The GDM-100-RC-T can also be configured for alternative gases, including nitrogen, carbon tetrafluoride, oxygen, carbon dioxide, 3M™, Novec™ 4710, helium and argon. The analog version of the GDM-100-RC-T uses proven 4 ... 20 mA analog signal technology and outputs the absolute pressure at 20°C [68°F] or the insulating gas density (g/l) as an analog signal. The stored data can be used for trend analysis, allowing critical insulating gas conditions to be predicted and corrected in a timely manner.
