Technical Specifications

Product CategoryTemperature Measurement
Product TypeThermocouples
SummaryWithout thermowell
ApplicationsDirect installation into the measuring process Machine construction Electric motors Bearings Pipelines and vessels
Key FeaturesSensor range: -40 ... +1,200 °C [-40 ... +2,192 °F] Insert with optional screwed process connection Connection head: form B or JS Various approvals available for hazardous areas (see page 2 of the data sheet)
DescriptionThe thermocouple thermometer without thermowell is particularly suitable for applications where the metal probe is inserted directly into a bore (e.g. in machine parts) or directly into the process, provided the process does not contain chemically corrosive or abrasive media. If a thermowell is used, it must be equipped with a spring, since the spring reliably presses the bottom end of the probe into the bottom of the thermowell; otherwise, continuous pressure would be exerted on the sensing tip. The thermometer is usually installed directly into the process, although it can also be connected using fastening elements such as threaded fittings or union nuts. The flexible head section is a mineral-insulated cable (sheathed cable). This cable comprises a stainless steel sheath whose internal conductors are embedded in an insulating, high-density ceramic compound, making it suitable for use at high temperatures. Optionally, WIKA analogue or digital transmitters can be fitted to the TC10-H connection head.
