Technical Specifications

Product CategoryTemperature Measurement
Product TypeResistance thermometers
SummarySuitable for hygienic applications, orbital weld-in design
ApplicationsHygienic applications; food and beverage industry; biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, active ingredient production
Key FeaturesSensor can be calibrated without opening the process connection; simple and fast connection via M12 x 1 plug; output signal: direct sensor output (Pt100/Pt1000 3-wire or 4-wire) or 4 ... 20 mA signal via a computer-programmable transmitter, individually configurable with the free WIKAsoft-TT configuration software; wetted parts made of 1.4435 stainless steel; self-draining, greatly reduced dead space, surface finish to hygienic design standards
DescriptionThe TR21-B resistance thermometer is designed for temperature measurement of liquid and gaseous media in hygienic applications in a range of -30 ... +150 °C [-22 ... +302 °F]. An intrinsically safe version is available for use in hazardous areas. The end of the process connection of the thermometer is very smooth and is also suitable for orbital welding. The materials and design of the process connections of these resistance thermometers meet the strict requirements of hygienic measuring points. All components are protected against moisture (IP67 or IP69K). The thermometer can either provide a direct output (resistance) or an integrated transmitter outputting a 4 ... 20 mA signal, individually configurable with the free WIKAsoft-TT configuration software. Measuring range, damping, error signal to NAMUR NE 043 and tag number can be set. The sensor can be removed without disconnecting the process or electrical connections, making calibration or maintenance easy. This not only significantly reduces the hygienic risk, but also considerably shortens downtime. A compression spring integrated in the swivel nut ensures good contact between the sensor tip and the bottom of the thermometer thermowell, ensuring a short response time and consistently high accuracy. Different insertion depths, process connections, sensors and connection types can be selected according to the order information. The electrical connection is made quickly via an M12 x 1 connector. We can also supply high-temperature resistance thermometers for use in autoclaves.
