Technical Specifications

Product CategoryTemperature Measurement
Product TypeResistance thermometers
SummaryFor hygienic applications, flange connection
ApplicationsHygienic applications Food and beverage industry Biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, active ingredient production
Key FeaturesSensor calibration without opening the process connection Compact design saves installation space Simple and fast connection via M12 x 1 plug Output signal: direct sensor signal (PT100/PT1000, 3-wire or 4-wire) or 4 ... 20 mA signal via a computer-programmable transmitter, individually configured with the free WIKAsoft-TT configuration software Materials and surface quality comply with the standards for hygienic design
DescriptionThe TR21-A resistance thermometer is suitable for temperature measurement in the hygienic sector and can be used to measure liquid and gaseous media in a range of -30 ... +250 °C [-22 ... +482 °F]. An intrinsically safe version is available for use in hazardous areas. These resistance thermometers can be combined with a thermowell that is firmly connected to the plant; the material and design of the process connection meet the strict requirements of a hygienic measuring point. All components are protected against moisture (IP67 or IP69K). The thermometer can be supplied either with direct output (resistance) or with an integrated transmitter. Via the computer-programmable transmitter, a 4 ... 20 mA signal is output, individually configured with the free WIKAsoft-TT configuration software. Measuring range, damping, error signal to NAMUR NE 043 and tag number, etc., can be set. The sensor can be removed for calibration or maintenance without disconnecting the process or electrical connection. This not only significantly reduces hygienic risks but also significantly shortens downtimes. A compression spring integrated into the union nut ensures good contact between the sensor head and the bottom of the thermometer thermowell, thus ensuring a short response time and consistently high accuracy of the thermometer. The weld between the thermowell and the flange acts as an additional sealing material, allowing the product to come into direct contact with the measured medium. Different insertion depths, process connections, sensors and connection methods can be selected individually from the ordering information. The electrical connection is made quickly via an M12 x 1 connector. We can also supply high-temperature resistance thermometers for use in autoclaves.
