Technical Specifications

Product CategoryCalibration Technology
Product TypePressure balances
SummaryHydraulic version
ApplicationsLeak and yield strength testing; Detection of friction pressure losses in pipelines; Monitoring of gas pressure in conjunction with flow meters; Measurement of wellhead gas pressure and hydraulic test pressures in risers; Measurement of steam pressure in energy efficiency tests
Key FeaturesMeasuring range: 3 ... 60 MPa [500 ... 8,000 psi]; Accuracy: 0.03 % + 5 kPa [0.03 % + 0.7 psi]; Ergonomic design; All instruments supplied with certificate traceable to national standards; Optionally available with UKAS certificate from our pressure standards laboratory
DescriptionPrecise pressure measurement: The hydraulic pipeline tester is portable and can accurately measure any unstable pressure value, making it suitable for power plants, pipelines and many other fields. Basic principle: When measuring pressure, weights are placed on the piston at a pressure slightly lower than the pressure to be measured. The downward pressure produced by the weights on the piston rod balances the pressure in the measuring chamber. The pressure of the booster pump acts on the stepped area of the piston, pushing it upwards. The measured pressure is indicated on the low-pressure precision dial; the mass of the weights corresponds to the indication on the dial. The weight of the weight pan corresponds to the scale range of the dial and can be neglected. Traceable to national standards: The weights and piston supplied with this pipeline tester are calibrated against standards that are traceable to national standards.
